Olivia Bochniak '21 Recruiting Profile

Getting brought up on Varsity and making it to the semi finals for the first time in our schools history, as a freshman was unbelievable. However, I feel I grew the most as a student-athlete when I didn’t make the Varsity team in the beginning of pre-season. So on JV I was captain and started every game. My goal was to get moved up to Varsity and my goal was achieved by hard work and motivation. I also played a Varsity game during the season. That experience helped me grow as a person and re-focus on becoming a solid defender capable of playing at the college level.

I was fortunate enough to be moved up to JV in 8th grade, doing so helped me become a leader on the team in 9th grade. I got the best defender award in the season of 2017 my coach calls me a “wall”, because no one could get around me. I am looking for a program that will fit me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete on a college team, but also the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make me easier to coach. I also have played and refed with AYSO and was a part of the NJHS in 8th grade. As a student-athlete and three-time captain, I know I have what it takes to be a leader and great teammate on your team!
