My name is Tatiana Zuluaga. I am sixteen years old and currently a junior in Island Trees High School. My main sport is soccer, but I also do track, Cross-fit, and Badminton.
Looking into the future, the fields that interest me are Human Biology and the medical programs. Going to an Ivy League school is important to me because the people who have graduated from these schools are very successful in their careers. I know that competition to get into these schools is high, but I am ready for the challenge. However, I am not discounting other schools that offer my preferred career fields and an exceptional soccer program.
I am a good candidate because I am a dedicated, hardworking player. I love going to practice to work on independent skills as well as the team as a whole, and participating in games to show how much I have improved and learned. Going to sleep away soccer camps throughout the year is one of my favorite experiences because you eat, breath, and sleep soccer! One of my favorite sleep away camps in U.K Elite which I have been participating in since I was ten years old. I joined them in one international tournament in the summer of 2014. Going into a Professional level in soccer after college is one of my life goals, I know I am able to achieve this because I truly believe that dedication and hard work can take you anywhere in life. I am very well educated about the tactics of the game as well as the skills I need to have in order to reach my goals.
What makes me different from other candidates is that soccer is not just a sport to me, it is my life. Growing up playing soccer has made me who I am today and has taught me important life lessons. Also, I don’t only love playing soccer I love the sport as a whole. I enjoy watching professional games, I am an avid fan of Barcelona, I enjoy dissecting plays, and teaching the sport. Soccer is not just another sport that I just play in fall, soccer is the sport I play year round and every other sport I do is to improve myself for soccer.
