I started playing soccer at the age of 5, in a community where opportunities for girls to play soccer was rare. Growing up in Ghana, a community where soccer was loved by many, I had to be the only girl on the men's soccer team to change the perception of people who viewed girls as weak and incapable of playing soccer like men. Although my determination to compete against the boys was to improve my ability as a player, it was also to inspire other girls in my community to play without the fear of being discriminated.
I was recruited by the Right to Dream Academy at an early age. Right to Dream is a soccer program in Ghana that seeks to nurture and redefine excellence through soccer. Over the past years, I have grown and thrived through Right to Dream's principles regarding Character, Education, and soccer. The character program helped me to discover my purpose and passions. It taught me to a good teammate, a leader by example, and most importantly and active listener. Due to my strong passion for soccer and robotics over the past years, I aspire to play at the highest collegiate level and to study engineering in college
