I would like to play soccer in college because it has made such a great impact on my life. I started playing when I was 7 years old. My cousin basically forced me to play. It was not something I was first interested in. I first started playing as a forward and I didn't do so great. My coach then moved me to defense. It was the perfect fit for me and I found my passion. No one could pass me.
Whenever I had a chance to go to a field to play with my friends, I did it. My mother struggled financially at times but would sacrifice every penny she had to make sure I would be able to play the sport I love. It wasn't easy growing up with a single mom but I realized how hard she worked to make sure I would be successful. I want to make it up to her, show her that I can make it, and show her that all her effort paid off.
I play every game with my heart and soul. No matter how easy or how tough the game is, I always give it 100%. Playing at the college level has always been a dream of mine. When I was in sixth grade, I told myself "I will make the varsity team as an eighth grader". I accomplished that. When I was a sophomore, I told myself "I have to get All-League junior year". I accomplished that. At the beginning of senior year, I told myself "I will play soccer in college". My goal is to play at the Division I or Division II level. I will continue to work hard until this goal is also accomplished.
