Kelsey Laro '10 Recruiting Profile

As the only female Hispanic and one of only 4 minority students at St. Joseph By the Sea High School, I am accustomed to meeting difficult challenges and overcoming obstacles. I am 5'4", 125 lbs and fast as lightening. In my latest completion of the 40 yard dash I achieved a 5.3 time. I have the distinction of being the fastest soccer player on every team I have played on. I was voted All-City All-Star by the New York Daily News.I achieved my dream of playing on an international stage in 2008 when I was chosen to represent the U.S. in the prestigious Agropoli Cup in Italy. Shortly thereafter, I was chosen MVP of my high school team for that year. I take great pride in being selected by my high school coach to be the captain of the varsity soccer team this fall season. I am a very dedicated and focused soccer player. My teammates know that they can count on me to motivate them to play their best and most importantly to lead by example. I have traveled extensively with my travel team for the past 2 yrs. We have been invited to play at some of the top tournaments in the country, such as the PDA Invitational and Score at the Shore. Although I am playing with a team that is in a higher age bracket, I start every game and have made an impact on my team's winning record. I have been playing soccer since the age of 6. It has always been my goal to play soccer at the college level. I am truly excited about the next level of competition that is to come. I am interested in going to school in the northeast region because it is in close proximity to home. I am looking for a school with a diverse student body with a medium/large population. The college can be private or public. My desired major is finance or sports medicine. My athletic goal is to play soccer for a reputable university or college while pursuing a rich educational experience. Soccer is my life!!!
