I wish I could say I’ve been playing soccer since I was two and had a smooth journey, but that’s far from my story. I didn’t even start playing until the end of 7th grade, and I didn’t join a club team until 8th grade. Most people would see that as a disadvantage since a lot of athletes start training when they’re 5 or 6 but for me, it just meant I had to work harder to catch up.
Even though I started late I quickly developed a passion for the game. I always had a ball at my feet, whether I was at home, on vacation, or anywhere in between. From the beginning, I’ve been determined to grow and become the best player I can be. But it hasn’t been easy. I showed up early to practices and stayed late, working while others rested just to close the gap.
This journey has changed me in the best way. It taught me the value of dedication and hard work—skills I carry with me both on and off the field. That drive and work ethic are what make me a good candidate for your team. I know I have a lot to offer because I’m willing to push myself to improve and help others around me grow too.
My story might not look like everyone else’s, but that’s what makes me different. I know what it’s like to face challenges and overcome them, and I bring that same mindset to both academics and athletics. My goal is to compete at the collegiate level, keep growing as a player, and contribute to a team that values hard work, growth, and determination as much as I do.
