Hello! I am Megan Lewis, thanks for reading my profile!
I just finished my high school soccer season as a junior. This year my high school team was 2nd in our All-American 3A/4A conference finishing with a 12-2-2 record. We also made history for the 2nd year in a row for Overhills women's soccer. Last year we won our first state playoff game. This year we won the All-American 3A/4A conference tournament. We also made it to states for our second year in a row. I hope next year to continue making history by winning 1st in our conference and also winning defender of the year.
Individually I had a great high school season with 5 goals and 3 assists. I was nominated for the All Region Team Academic Award and earned the All Academic award (3.8 and higher) award.
As a player, I am primarily playing center back for both high school and club teams, although I have played a few games in different positions. My strengths include doing long balls, defending, and passing.
In December 2023, I was invited by my club to try out to be one of 29 club players selected to go to Las Vegas to attend the 2023 Villarreal CF North American Select Team assessments. The experience playing with teams from all over North America was like no other experience. Plus my family and myself got to enjoy a bit of Las Vegas, to include zip lining over Fremont Street and visiting the Hoover Dam.
My club soccer team ended in 2023 with several amazing wins and we were a finalist at our first tournament of the season. Living in a military town, a player’s never guaranteed to return the next year. Through hard work and dedication our team has been able to move up in our division, and we have been able to develop a well-balanced team. In my sophomore year, my 17UG Force team were semifinalists at the Kepner Presidents State Cup and we won our division.
Academically, my goal is to become a physical therapist by taking high school and college courses pertaining to that field.
Here are some additional facts about myself: Weightlifting is another passion I have developed to increase my mental and physical health. Cross Country is another avenue I have used to help me on the soccer field. In my senior year of Cross Country, I hope to continue to advance and improve my PR with each meet. Last year I received the coaches award and plan to continue to improve. At 15 I completed the required courses to become a NC soccer referee. Being a referee is a great way to make money and improve my knowledge of the game. Soccer is a sport I will always want to be a part of and being a referee means I can be a part of the experience for years to come.
My senior year will be filled with Honors, College courses, and hopefully some college visits. I wish to play soccer in college and prefer schools on the East Coast that can provide me with a great education and experience.
