My name is Darby Wallig
2024 Goalkeeper: Plays at WYSA Wilson Youth Soccer Association in National League Piedmont Division and NL PRO .
My soccer career started as many do, playing in recreational leagues at an early age. At age 11, I began playing club soccer in Wilson, North Carolina for Wilson Youth Soccer Association. My team has moved from competing at the local level to now competing in USYS Piedmont League. Our team were the Piedmont League Champions last year and we went on to win the Southern Regionals. This resulted in our first trip to USYS Nationals in 2022. I have had the opportunity to play at a high level of competition for much of my youth career, with coaches that continued to push our team to higher levels with growth through league play or playing up against older age brackets. I pride myself on consistently seeking out areas for improvement. I have been recognized by coaches and referees for my friendly demeanor on the field towards others.
My high school career began quickly in my Freshman year, with several starts for Varsity, as I was dual rostered JV and Varsity. In my Sophomore year, I became the sole Varsity Goalie. Our team made 4A conference playoffs. I was named All Conference Goalie. Currently I am enrolled in honors and AP courses with a 4.413 weighted GPA. Outside of playing soccer I enjoy creating digital art, spending time with my friends and family and my dogs, Milo, Baxter, Nebbie, Siffy, Ripley, and Artemis.
