Hi, I am Olivia Clayton and I will be a senior at Ross high school. I have played soccer my whole life and I have just recently started running. With high school soccer, I was on JV for two years and Varsity on one and soon to be two. My first season on varsity was a little rough. In the beginning, I did not get much playing time but I never let that discourage me. I kept working hard at both of the varsity sports I was playing. As the season was coming to an end, and the OHSSA State Tournament was beginning, I started to get more playing time and starting in games. The first game I started in was against Mount Notre Dame, where we lost 3-1. I kept starting through our season ending game against Mariemont. However, before Mariemont, we upset a 14-1-1 team, known as Cincinnati Country Day. We went into double overtime and I had played the whole game, except for 5 minutes in a new position. My coach saw the amount of effort I was putting in at practice, and decided to switch my position from outside mid, to defense mid. During the course of my first cross country season, my times continued to improved, and I ended up dropping over two minutes for my 5k time. I place 9th at our league championship, (SouthWest Ohio Conference) earning 2nd Team All League honors. I achieved a personal best time of 22:35.06 at the State District meet. I also received Most Valuable Runner on my team. In addition to being a hard worker on the field and on the race course, I am a hard worker in the classroom. I have had high honors for my three years of high school. I have a bronze medal for the consecutive quarters of high honors. In addition, I plan on taking Dual Credit classes at Miami University Hamilton since I only need a few credits to graduate.
