Myriah Merten '20 Recruiting Profile

   Hello, my name is Myriah Merten, i graduated from John F. Kennedy Catholic High School in 2020, located in Northeastern Ohio. I am in search of a college where I will be able to pursue a career in playing the game that I love. I am open to all options and want to find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible.

    I have been playing soccer for 14 years. I have had an interest in playing soccer ever since I was three years old. Over the years, I have fallen in love with the game even more and dedicated my youth to trying to accomplish my dream of playing college soccer. At an early age of six, I was involved in an elite team. I have always been very serious about playing, and as little as two years later, I was training for a club team. After a week of training, my coach was very impressed with my dedication and hard work, so he asked me to be a part of his club team; Tri-County Soccer Club (TCSC). Ever since that moment, I have earned a starting position as an attacking or defending midfielder not only for my high school team but my club team as well. I have spent hours training daily working on understanding and playing the game. I have always practiced with the older teams to challenge myself and work on my performance.  I have also practiced with boys' teams to learn different styles of play. I play soccer all year round, between my high school team, and my club team.

    In addition to putting a lot of hard work and dedication into playing soccer, I have participated and earned a starting position for basketball and softball at my high school. This year, I decided that I was going to dedicate myself to soccer, so I no longer play any other sports. I work very hard at school and maintain an accumulative GPA of 3.4 on a no weighted grade scale. I participate in many programs that are offered at my school, and I take multiple honors classes. I would like to accel in the nursing field and later become a nurse practitioner. I believe that I have very good work ethic, leadership skills, communication skills, and I am very responsible. I hope to make my parents proud, and pursue my career of playing the game that I love.
