My name is Jazmine Short; I am a 17 year old, and interested in furthering my soccer career throughout my years at university or collage. Currently I play for the 1996 Barrie soccer club. Before Barrie I played for my local club, South Simcoe United. I am naturally right footed but am confident using my left when needed. Central midfield is my preferred position however, due to some injuries on my team I was asked to fill in as a centre back for half the season. My ability to play a number of positions is an asset to my coaches and i am happy to play where the team needs me to.
Currently I attend Banting Memorial High School in Alliston, Ontario. I have been a member of the soccer team each year.
I am in grade 12 this year and am working hard to keep my GPA high. I have spent a lot of time in the past two years thinking about what i would like to study throughout my University or Collage career, and have decided on business. Having taken the accounting class in grade 11 finishing with a 84% mark i enjoyed the business units the most and have taken the next level of accounting and the business leadership course next semester.
As a soccer player, my main assets are; speed with the ball, endurance, and my ability to see the game, as well as my talent to create plays and score goals. I am a team player team player and can play a number of positions effectively and will continue playing soccer for years to come.
I am a hard working defensive minded player. I play mainly as a central defender but can play any defensive position as well as defensive midfield. My key strengths are my control, ball striking and understanding of the game. I am also the go to person for dead ball situations and penalty kicks. I love the game and come form a family of soccer players with both my brother and sister competing at the NCAA D2 level.
