When you think of a person who has determination, consistency, passion, and the ‘empty the tank’ mindset, you think of me, Olivia Tehrani. I play for the Niagara International Football Club U18 team. I play in the NPL (National Premier League), Champions League, and the Buffalo/New York Junior Soccer League, all of which are based in the states. My primary position on my team is an attacking midfielder. However, I have the versatility and capability of playing right or left wing, forward, and defensive mid. My key technical skills on the field are my speed on and off the ball; quick decision making; vision for through balls and linking passes; physicality; 1v1 moves; confidence on the ball; and my box to box runs. My other key attributes are my communication, hard work, coachability, desire to grow, and love for the game. In school, I am extremely dedicated. This year (grade 10) I maintained a 95% average throughout the school year. I am hoping to be as successful in grades 11 and on. I am looking to play at the NCAA D1 or D2 collegiate level. My desired programme is sports psychology. With every touch of the soccer ball, my love grows. Not only am I grateful for everything soccer has given me, like new friends, family, and experiences, but I am grateful for what soccer has taught me. It has shown me what hard work can do for you and that if you have a dream, you must fight for it. Soccer is much more than kicking a ball; it's my life. I love the feeling of finally getting that new move down, and I love the feeling of perfecting it even more. The sense of love I have for the game inspires me to spread it to the next generation. I volunteer my time helping out youth girls' soccer teams in my area. I help them with their skills and, more importantly, fall in love with the game. I am trying to give back to my soccer community as much and as often as I can.
