Ever since I was 4 years old, soccer has been a favourite passion of mine. I knew from a young age, I was born to play this sport. I knew I wanted to pursue a future in soccer and I would do anything for me to achieve my goals.
From house league to now, I have played a year up throughout my entire youth soccer career. Playing up has taught me many lessons that I carry with me now. It has challenged me beyond what I thought I could achieve. I have learned how to adapt and thrive in a new environment, play against new challenges, and succeed in challenging environments. Playing up in soccer has definitely contributed to the unique player I am now.
All of my family, including my mom, dad, and brother were/all high-performance athletes. I aspire to follow in their footsteps. My family is a basketball fuelled family, which is funny because I am the first person in my family to pursue soccer. My dad played basketball at University as well as overseas, my mom did highly-competitive track and volleyball in high school, and my brother currently plays D1 basketball at Vermont University. Being born into such a high-level sports family has guided me and inspired me to succeed in the sport I love.
My ultimate goal for university is to play NCAA D1 soccer. I want to be on a team that is competitive, hungry, focused, and always strives for more. I dream to be on a team that fits with my own personality as well.
To achieve this goal, I work hard every single day, 25/8. Not only do I put 150% effort into all my team practices, but I make sure to train to be the best well-rounded player I can be. With my team training, I make sure to have a strength and conditioning coach, as well as other personal trainers to work on my soccer skills. I’ve had the privilege to do my training with a retired professional male soccer player from Germany, as well as a current professional female soccer player for the Rangers FC in Scottland. I am so thankful for all of my trainers who continue to push me and make me a better soccer player every day.
I am a strong, dominant, well-rounded player. My main position is centre back but I am very versatile and can play any position on the field! I have great vision of the game and the confidence to ensure I am always the hardest working and successful player on the field. Recently I have become a member of the Grenadian National team. Over February, I have played at the U20 CONCACAF with the Grenadian National team and it was an experience of a lifetime.
I will do anything it takes to win. I am an extremely determined, skillful, and impactful player who greatly helps my team succeed. The higher the stakes the better for me, I handle and cope with pressure situations very well.
Academically, I have the same attitude. I strive to be the best in the classroom and work my best with every task I get. I have a 4.0 GPA that I am extremely proud of. I aspire to attend a university not only for its athletic program but for its academic strength. While soccer is my passion and I have a goal to play at the highest level, I understand I can’t play forever, so I attack my academics with the same drive and determination as I do the sport of soccer.
