My name is Camille Nurse and I look forward to playing soccer throughout university and beyond. I can't explain why I have such a love for soccer. It's a feeling. The way the adrenaline feels when your cleats hit the turf, like a jolt of energy form the bottom of my cleats to the top of my ponytail. Soccer is not just game for me, it's the thing that taught me time management and dedication. I do believe that without soccer i would be a completely different person.
Being a leader on and off the field is one of my strengths. I'm the type of person that wants each and every one of my teammates to be at the top of their game. To do so, I help in anyway possible, whether that means to help them perfect a move or explaining the atomic theory. I do my best in everything I do, not because I have to, but because i want to. I push myself to attain my full potential on the field, in the classroom and in every aspect of my life.
My strengths on the field include my speed, aggression, finishing and communication, but I always look for aspects in my game I can improve. At 5'11", I am working on being effective in the air, especially within the 6yd box.
I have had the opportunity to play internationally at the 2013 CONCACAF U17 Women's World Cup qualifying tournament, and it was a tremendous experience. To hit the field with 5,000+ screaming fans in attendance was a hair raising experience, and something that drives me to train hard every practice so that i can get the opportunity to experience that feeling again.
I am looking for a university that will shape me into the best student-athlete I can be, harnessing my dedication, determination, responsibility, organization, hard work and positive attitude to aid the team. I'm looking for a school with a great psychology program and teammates i can bond with, to share this amazing experience with.
