Hi! My name is Mia Persia and I am graduating in 2023. I am planning to start post-secondary studies in August/September of 2024. I am currently an outside midfielder on the U17 Hamilton Sparta Regional Team. Since I was 4 years old, soccer has been a huge part of my life. Starting competitively at the age of 7, I played on a local competitive team, Saltfleet Stoney Creek, from u8-u14, where we went on to go 3 full seasons undefeated, also winning the Rochester, NY Invitational Tournament in 2018. Playing soccer for nearly 13 years has shown me how much I truly love playing and how much I want to continue to grow and become better. On the field, I am very fast, both on my feet and when making decisions with the ball. I am very flexible and have learned to play and adapt to positions all over the field, such as striker, right and left outside mid, and right defence. Off the field, I enjoy prioritizing physical activity and academics as much as possible. I have made the honour roll from grades 9-Present with an over 90% average each year, and have been awarded the HWCDSB "Living in the Spirit" Award in 2018 and 2019, as well as the Female Athlete of the Year in 2019. As well as soccer, I have also played competitive basketball for nearly 10 years of my life, played on the school volleyball team for 2 years, and played on the touch/flag football team. During elementary and high school, I was able to learn how to balance all of these while still maintaining a good average. My future aspirations are to attend medical school to become a family doctor. I train as hard as I can 110% of the time, and I hope that my dream of continuing my post-secondary journey with soccer will be turned into a reality!
