Tessa Abeling '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Tessa Abeling, I am a center-back from Salem, OR, I attend Dallas High School in Dallas, OR, and I play for Capital FC's 05/06 GA team. I have been playing soccer my entire life and have pretty much played every position in the book, including goalie, but I have always loved defense the most. What I love most about playing defense is building the game up from the back and controlling the pace of the game. I have great field awareness and have great communication with my teammates, as I'm usually the loudest one on the field. I have always been an aggressive and physical player, but I make smart decisions on when to use contact on the opposing team. I take most of the corner kicks, goal kicks, and PKs, and have even scored a few goals as a center-back throughout the 2022/2023 season. Soccer has continuously helped me through life's hardships and has provided great structure for me to continue to grow as a person. I receive very good grades, continuing my senior year with a 3.85 GPA and thoroughly enjoy school, mostly for its soccer program in the club off-season. My dream since I was very young was to play soccer in college, and hopefully I will make that dream become reality.
