I am a strong believer in if you want something you have to work to get it. Without a passion in what you're striving for you will lack the "want" aspect of it. My "want" for soccer started when I was four, my first year of playing soccer. I started playing club when I was 10 and I'm still currently on two. But that's when I realized I had talent to go along with hard work. On my first premiere team we made it to Nationals down in Florida, and we won the Eastern Pennsylvania Invitational Classic. My first premiere team and I were great and that was when I began to grow quickly skill wise as a player. Ever since then I have striven to be the best academically and athletically. A few of my key traits are definitely my hardworking attitude, my team- first mentality, and my persistence. Here's a little more about me.
I am a student- athlete, student first athlete second. My grades are extremely important to me, because that's the first step to me continuing my soccer career. With out the grades there is no soccer, at least not at the level I aspire to play at. Not only have my parents pushed me to have good grades, but once I started my middle school years I took on the responsibility to push myself. As a current Freshman at Boyertown West soon to be Sophomore at Boyertown Senior High I am proud to say that I have continually made high honor roll quarter after quarter, as well as have been student of the month several times. I am enrolled in honors Geometry, Algebra 2, History, and English currently. Soccer has not only taught me good team working skills and social skills, but definitely time management. I use most of, or all of, my free time during and outside of school to finish homework, even things that aren't due until the next month occasionally. This is because if I have learned anything through my years, it's that procrastination is a real killer.
I am looking for schools with great veterinary science courses and or a degree available for it. I want to try and find the best fit for me academically and athletically when it comes to colleges. As a young girl I always had the dream to play soccer in college, and as I have gotten older my dream has been set into a goal that I'm continually picking away at. I am looking for a Division 1 or Division 2 school for soccer, but am completely open to any and every level of school, seeing as playing in college is the goal not playing in a specific division.
"There is no I in team". I have lived by that motto for as long as I can remember. Without your teammates you wouldn't be able to win games or championships. Your teammates are there to pick you back up after a rough game, or to be there celebrating next to you after a huge victory. Win or lose your teammates should always be there for you, otherwise its not really a team, now is it? My seventh and eighth grade years I made varsity and was the captain. I take pride in myself for being chosen as captain, because not only did I lead the team, but it meant that I was in charge of keeping everyone close. Team is everything. My freshman year I was on junior varsity for high school and was named captain, but towards the end of the season I was pulled up to play with the varsity. I take nothing for granted and saw this as an amazing opportunity. We won Pac 10's and did pretty well in our high school season.
As I said earlier another one of my key traits is my hardworking and persistent attitude. I play every game like it could be my last, and leave absolutely everything out on the field. Because who knows, maybe it could be my last. I have always been the one to outwork everyone on the field. I give 200% effort every practice and game, because there is always more to give than 100% it just means you need to dig deep and find that extra bit. I have never had a coach talk to me about working harder, because I take that responsibility upon myself. No one can teach effort and hard work that comes from inside the player. I am not a cocky player, I will never criticize someone else before criticizing myself. No one is perfect but I believe you can always work to try to be.
Thank you for your time, and thank you for reading and getting to know a little more about me!
