My name is Grace Langendoerfer, I am a Junior in high school at Western Wayne located in Pennsylvania. I play as a center back for my high school team, and for a travel team called "TNT Elite" I play all over the field. As a player I am very passionate about soccer and all that it involves, I am constantly cheering on my teammates and pushing both them and myself to be the best player. On the field I have good communication to all players as well as I am very good at reading the field and finding good pockets for the ball to be sent through to progress it up the field. Off the field I take honors and AP classes, as well as I am in National Honors Society, and I have a 3.5 GPA. Soccer has always been super important to me for as long as I can remember. To me soccer is more than just a sport, it is something I am very serious about and also very passionate about. When it comes to practice and even games I am constantly pushing myself to be better and preform at the highest level I can. Growing up I was always told by peers and coaches that I wasn't ever going to make it anywhere in soccer, but instead of giving up I pushed myself to train harder and want it more. One of my greatest strengthens in soccer is that I don't like to give up, and if it is something I'm not sure what to do I will ask and keep trying until it is exactly what needs to be done. I am the kind of player that is all for the team, I cheer on everyone, help if they need it and I am always encouraging everyone to compete that their highest level. Even if that level is higher or better than mine, because I feel everyone plays an important roll on the field and you shouldn't be in competition with your own team but with your opponents. Something I learned from soccer is that if it is something you truly want in life and want to succeed at, you can't ever let someone be right and bring you down. Soccer is something I plan to hold in my future, and I am hopeful that it means to play in college.
