Personal Statement
Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to play soccer. I thought it was the greatest sport in the world, a belief that has only strengthened throughout the past 13 years of playing. My dad has been the most influential person in my soccer career from day one. He coached me up until last year and always pushed me to be the best that I could be, and I owe all my talent today to his support, as well as my mom's. Soccer plays a huge role in my life and has really caused me to grow as a person and a leader. I practice and train everyday and encourage other girls to do the same. During high school workouts I do my best to lead and help all the girls through them and it shows. Girls tell me they only kept running and playing because I was encouraging them, and my mom receives texts and phone calls from other moms telling her to thank me for helping their daughter through the workouts. As an upper class-men, I know that the high school season can be stressful and I want to be there to help the new and returning players get over any obstacle they may face.
Becoming the player I am today was no cake walk. I got cut from the A team at my club when I was 10, which was very hard for me to understand. Even though I was so young, I never gave up. I've never been a quitter and I never will be. I worked harder, and my dad and I started the very first "B" team at Hulmeville. I was the captain of the B team and lead our team forward. We started as Division 2 team and through the leadership and encouragement of myself and the co-captain, we became an Elite team before we folded. Each year I grew as a player and a person and last fall the coach of the A team asked me back. Now I play center-mid for the Galaxy and I love it.
I believe I would be a good fit for your soccer program because of my relentless drive and constant positivity towards all players and coaches. I'm always pushing myself and those around me to be the best that they can be. I'm a tenacious player and I'm extremely fast. I'm always one of the fastest girls on the field and have learned to use my speed to my advantage, along with my ball handling skills and "never give up" attitude. I know I have what it takes to make an impact and be a leader on your team!
