2023 Spotlight
2023 SpotlightHello, my name is Katherine Varghese. I attend Sewickley Academy and am a part of the class of 2025. I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old, and ever since I first touched a soccer ball, I have been in love with the sport. I am hard-working, coachable, and passionate about the game. Whether I am on the bench cheering on my teammates or on the field making plays, I am always enjoying myself. Soccer is a part of my life, and who I am. I play for the Riverhounds Development Academy 07 Girls ECNL team, and I am a starter on my high school team at Sewickley Academy, where I won the WPIAL All-Section Award. Furthermore, I volunteer with the Riverhounds Grassroots program, which is a program that develops players from ages 4 to 8. I truly love getting to watch the kids fall in love with the sport that I love. I have learned so many valuable lessons on the field, that have translated to my academic career and life. Being a student-athlete is difficult, but I effectively manage my time to maintain my high-level grades. I would love to play college soccer at a school with great academics and a diligent athletic program. I am a resilient learner who would like to pursue a career in Sports Management or International Studies. I can play Center Defensive Mid, and Right Wing/Back.
