My name is Riley Karpinski (#15), and my goal is to play soccer at the highest collegiate level possible. My love for soccer started when I was 4 and have been playing at the highest level since. My main position is striker but I can play multiple positions on the field.
Outside of everything I have learned from playing and working with multiple coaches at the highest club level, I’ve also had the opportunity to train at SB Soccer with Samir Badr (professional player) since I was 8 years old. I feel my coaches and personal training have helped me develop a strong set of fundamentals and skills that I continue to build on every day. I learned early on the correct way to open up, receive and trap a ball, know where to pass before I even got the ball, and many more skills. Being on an ECNL team pushed me to work hard and challenge myself every time I play.
Things that differentiate me from others players are my speed, aggressiveness on the ball and when dropping back to win balls, and most importantly my left foot. I am right foot dominant but defenders don’t know that I’m just as strong with my left. I have been a team captain since I can remember. As a team leader, I’m constantly encouraging my teammates during games and trying to get everyone to think positive. I believe that you should practice as hard as you play, and I push my teammates to have the same mindset.
Academically, I will be working just as hard to achieve the best grades possible and I’m currently an Honor Student.
