I have decided that the route of pursuing collegiate soccer is the best for me. I love the sport and after having a minor injury that consequently led to me sitting out for a few games, I realized that I couldn't go to college without playing soccer. I also know that if I pursue soccer and well as focus on academics in college, it will help me with my time management. About 2 years ago, I went to an I.D. camp at Southwestern and something that really stood out to me is that one of the coaches said that student-athletes perform better in school- this caught my attention and after my injury, I knew that collegiate soccer was something I wanted to do. From my minor injury, I have come back stronger than ever. I missed the latter half of my high school season my junior year, but still managed to be the top scorer on my team and be recognized by my coach as Offensive Player of the Year. After high school season, I built my strength back up. I began practicing with my club team, which recently just went to Regionals and placed 4th. Despite all of this, I have been extremely focused on my academics and volunteer work. I plan on graduating my senior year with not only my high school diploma, but also my associates degree in General Studies. I volunteer at Clear Lake Regional Hospital, in hopes of one day becoming an oncologist, at my local church, and local animal shelter. I also am a part of NHS at Alvin High School and love being integrated within the community. I'm excited to get in contact with college coaches about my soccer career in college!
