Hello , my name is Pita Ortiz. I attend John Paul II High School and I will be graduating in 2024. I have been playing soccer since I was about five years old and I have been a goalkeeper since I was in third grade. I am very passionate about my sport and the position that I play. My goal is to be able to play soccer as a goalkeeper at the college level and even more. I want to not only be a successful college athlete but I would also want to be a successful college student academically.
One day when I was in third grade I decided to try out to be a goalkeeper for the new team I was joining. That year was life changing for me; when I would play I would feel excitement and this incredible joy. That was when I realized I wanted to do this and that I wanted to be a successful soccer goalkeeper. I love the adrenaline that I have during the game and the excitement that has never dimmed since the first time I felt it in third grade.
Throughout my years I have been training as hard as I can whenever I get the chance. Even when it might be a busy week I try to find a way to practice so that I can continue to develop my skills. I train with a goalkeeper trainer whenever I get the chance and even when I get home I do extra footwork to help me with my ball control. I train with both my club and high school team whenever we have practice.
