Julia Rutter '25 Recruiting Profile

Confident-Direct-Leader.  My name is Julia Rutter and I am a passionate GK who loves the intensity of the position and thrives on quick reactive saves in the box as you can see from my tryout video for a spot on Team Dempsey in the TST tournament.   I am fearless as I was the only female GK among adult men and after my tryout in Dallas, Clint Dempsey invited me to the next round in Houston where after I made the preliminary roster of 24 of a final 18 roster.  However, due to the minimum age being 18 for the finals I was not able to move on, but I will be back!  I have been playing soccer since I was 5 and I am an asset to any team I am on because of my soccer IQ, being coachable and my hunger and love for the game.  I am vocally effective at commanding my back line but also encouraging and positive and when mistakes are made I acknowledge and fix.  I enjoy all aspects of being a GK, am comfortable with the ball at either foot, especially under pressure, and I have no qualms about playing off my line.  I am looking for a college program that will feed my passion in goal and where I can grow academically. A program where I can continue to develop the overall player and person I continue to evolve into.  Outside of soccer you will find me crocheting, singing, watching my favorite shows and hanging with friends.
