Tijana Lekic '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Tijana Lekic and I'm striving to play college soccer. I was born in England but my mom is Mexican and my dad is Serbian. I am the oldest of four. As I was growing up I was moving around from country to country so I have lived in Africa, Russia, Dubai, and now Houston, Texas. I started playing soccer around 7th grade and have loved the game ever since, I have played club soccer for almost 5 years now. My goals in my sports are to win state champions and play for college. I want to study Engineering and/or Business. I am going to be a senior this coming school year and my goals for the end of my high school years are to achieve a high GPA, play for my varsity soccer team to my best ability and run varsity track. I made Junior Varsity A soccer team freshman year which I was very proud of because I was one of the few freshmen who made that team. I made varsity track freshman year and got honored with a letters man jacket, I enjoy running and exercise.  I am a team player and find joy in working with other people, I am very open and get along with people very well. I love my teammates, they always feel like second families to me. I am a strong leader and can lead a team but I can also follow when I need to. Although I am proud of my sports, I am also proud of my schoolwork. I love to challenge myself and work hard to succeed. I am also fluent in Spanish and want to study more languages. I am participating in a charity league called NCL and have held and still hold office positions all 6 years, and was president Junior year. I am part of my school's student government (STUCO). STUCO is very exciting for me, I enjoy helping the school and organizing events. This year I am a recording secretary. I am a very adventurous person and love the outdoors. I am an environmentalist and love the earth with my whole heart. I work to take care of it and hope to make a change for the better.
