Personal Statement
My name is Ashley McGuire and i am a sophomore at Paris High School in Paris,Texas. I made varsity as a starting freshman and led the team to regionals scoring a total of 41 goals. I finished out my freshman year being awarded both Co-MVP of our district and 2nd team all state for 4a division schools. I also was a starter for my club team, Fc Dallas. I am the youngest on the team and lead in goals scored for each game.
Unfortunately in a tournament my sophomore year, a few weeks before my highschool season began, i tore my pcl and sprained my mcl playing with my club team. I didn’t let this injury set me back. i went to physical therapy and worked hard to get back on the field each day. Thankfully i was able to get back as soon as district started and played a total 5 games scoring a total of 9 goals. Even though my season was cut short due to my injury and covid-19, i was still named district co-mvp.
My injury has taught me to never take advantage of the sport that I love and to always give my all and even more. My competitive spirit will push me to give 110% both on the field and in the classroom.
