My name is Laia Boter, I am from Barcelona Spain, even though I've been living in the US for a year with a scholarhsip to do my Junior Year of High School. I started playing soccer when I was just 6 years old. I started playing in the club “La Roca del Vallès”. I won 3 championships leagues and I always was with a team that the girls were 1 year or 2 older than me and I was the little of the team, so I think that this fact challenged me to get more experience.
Then after winning my 3rd league with La Roca and arriving at semifinals of the Catalonia’s Championship, the clubs “RCD Español” and “CE Sant Gabriel” among others ask for me. It was a difficult decision since there were the best clubs of Catalonia at that moment with FC Barcelona, but I chose going to “CE Sant Gabriel”, because I knew girls that were very happy there and I could improve much more there. I Alsop was selected to play the territorials of Catalonia with my region. Then on 2016 was definitely one of the best years in my soccer career; I won the league, we arrived at the final of the Catalonia Championship ere we were defeated by a great FC Barcelona. Besides, that year I was chosen by a Spanish northern “team-selection” to play the Dana CUP in Denmark, where we arrived at the final, and The Gothia Cup, the most important youth soccer tournament in the world, where we were defeated by the Norway selection.
Although RCD Español asked for me next year, I decided to continue my first year of youth player in CE Sant Gabriel, in the second national juvenile league (the juvenile league costs the ages of 14-19), so I was the youngest competing in that league. Next year I signed up for the club “Manu Lanzarote”, a club that was founded in 2013 by a professional soccer player. I liked the project because they were searching for young soccer players to compete in the juvenile first division of Catalonia. We ended up 3th of Catalonia after being defeated by RCD Español at semifinals but winning CF Damm at the 3th place. Then I decided that I wanted to play college soccer in the USA because there are more opportunities for women at soccer, so I applied for the academic scholarship and I am In Texas High School, Texarkana, Texas.
I can play as an outside-back, forward or center-back. I don’t have many videos of me playing soccer because unless it was broadcast on TV nobody filmed the games, but this season here in Texas High School are filming all the games and I’d be very pleased if some scout could come to a game to watch me playing. Our season starts on February, here I have attached the schedule of all the games.
I consider myself a hard-working person and always wanting to learn more. I am very ambitious in all the aspects, I always want more and more and I want to adventure a lot of new experiences in my life.
