While I was growing up, my free time was dominated by ballet and soccer. A lot of people thought it was a strange combination, but I loved the discipline and physical challenge of both, and the fact that both allowed me to work quietly on my own personal improvements and then see them contribute to a group dynamic. I also loved that my coaches in both really cared about my development. But when it was time to choose one sport, I chose soccer because I loved the feeling of being competitive and aggressive on a team. I like to see my own personal improvements in corner kicks, clears, passes, and blocks contribute to more success for my team as a whole. I am eager to continue improving.
My first priority in college will be my academics, and soccer will come next. I will go into college willing and excited to work hard to learn and excel in both school and sports, as I have in high school. I have been known as one of the hardest workers on my team for several years. I humbly apply coaching advice immediately and am always working on my own to improve as a player. I want to continue to grow as a soccer player to become as good as I can possibly get.
I stand out as a player for my work ethic and my capacity to learn.
