Soccer is the best thing I have ever decided to do. It has taught me responsibility, teamwork, and to never let down when the going gets tough. I have played ever since I can remember and since I was 7 years old I have been the only person to play in goal on my team. I love the position because I have control over the outcome, and the adrenaline rush can't be mimicked by anything else. I started club soccer in 2008 playing my first season in 2009, but I had a hard time running with the rest of the team because my iron stores were low. I finished out the season, but could not try out again in spring. By Christmas 2009 I was in the hospital because of an illness called Ulceretive Colitis. In the following years till now I have spent a total of 7 months in the hospital. I got my colon out in March 2010 and was diagnosed with Crohns August 2011. By spring 2012 I was able to play Club soccer again on the u16 C team which was a year up from where I was supposed to be playing. I felt healthy again and soccer gave me friends and something to look forward to if I had problems with my illness. I want to play soccer for as long as I possibly can. Which is why I want to be a part of a college team. While at college I want to study Business so I can hopefully work for an event planning company and then go on to start my own Event Planning business. Right now I'm having health problems again so i'm having a hard time keeping my grades up. My short term academic goal is to have a 3.5 GPA by the end of the school year. My long term academic goal is to go to Green River Community College next year in the "Running Start" program and get my AA by my high school graduation. My short term goal for soccer is to be able to jump at least "a hand" over the goal by the end of the winter/spring season by working with my goalkeeper trainer and doing leg muscle workouts. My long term goals for soccer are to continue playing an age group up, but on the A team instead of the B team next year, Play on the Varsity soccer team for my high school as a starter my senior year, and of course to play college ball.
