Hi my name is Adie (pronounced 80) Segadelli of the Class of 2023. As a driven and ambitious student-athlete, I am excited to share with you my goals and aspirations for college and beyond. My passion for sports has been a driving force in my life, pushing me to become the best athlete and person I can be.
In college, I am committed to not only excelling on the field, but also in the classroom. As a dedicated student, I plan to pursue a degree in Business and am eager to explore new academic and extracurricular opportunities. My ultimate goal is to use my education and athletic experience to make a positive impact in my community and beyond.
What makes me a strong candidate for your team is my commitment to excellence both on and off the field. I am a disciplined and hardworking athlete, constantly striving to improve my skills and help my team succeed. I understand that being a part of a team requires more than just physical ability; it requires leadership, teamwork, and a positive attitude. These are all qualities that I possess and am committed to bringing to the program I end up at.
This past year has been one of the hardest of my life. My dad passed away from cancer in mid-January, in the middle of my basketball season. My dad loved basketball, so I was committed to moving forward because I knew that was what he would want me to do. I played in my Senior night game 2 days following his death and it was one of the hardest nights of my life, but I knew that not playing was not an option. Because my dad had been a teacher and coach at my high school for over 25 years, the community came out in droves to support me and my family. I knew I had to play because I cared too much for my team's success and I wasn't going to let them down; even though I knew they'd understand. I wanted to make my dad proud. That night taught me a lot about how important the community and girls on my team are to me and how the friendships I had built are never-ending. If I end up in your program I hope to make friendships like this that last me a lifetime.
I believe that my character and academic achievements set me apart from other recruits. I am a highly motivated individual who is dedicated to achieving my goals, both in sports and in academics. I have demonstrated this dedication through my 4 dedicated years on Varsity of both my soccer and basketball teams, and taking those teams multiple times to the state tournament. I also decided to turn out for track starting my junior year, earning the Rookie of the Year award my first season. Outside of school sports, I also play Premier soccer and work at a horse stable. I was able to excel in all of these activities, while still achieving a cumulative gpa of 3.85. Most importantly, I am a person of integrity, honesty, and respect, and am committed to representing myself, my family, and my team in the best possible light.
In summary, I believe that my passion, work ethic, and character make me an excellent candidate for your team. I am committed to using my athletic and academic abilities to make a positive impact, both on and off the field. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to any program and continue to grow and develop as a student-athlete.
