Hello,
Soccer has always been the constant thing in my life that kept me strong. Whenever I was going through hard times soccer got me through them. I can’t imagine giving all of that up when I graduate. I want to continue playing because soccer fills this spot in life. I have always taken my grades and sports very seriously. Growing up in a small town meant that I was a part of a very small soccer club. At one point my club team had over 4 years of age gaps on it. This situation allowed me to take up a lot of leadership roles many of the years I played on my club team. For many years I played on and off on the boys team from my club, this experience greatly improved my skills as a player. Even today I am close to a lot of my boy soccer teammates and continue to go to some of their practices occasionally. When high school came I made varsity my freshman year, but my team went 16-0. I was the lone scorer for the entire season as a freshman. That season was the most frustrating season of soccer I’ve ever played, and it taught me a lot. I learned how to handle the tough situations and to keep playing my hardest regaurdless of the teams circumstances. Freshman year even though my team didn’t play well I got all state honorable mention which for me was a big deal. It meant that even though my team had no wins that season coaches had still noticed me personally. That summer I was invited to try out for Western Wisconsin, a team based in Hudson. I went to tryouts knowing no one. I made the first team, and I remember the scariest part was not knowing any of my now teammates, but it didn’t take long before I formed amazing bonds with many of those girls. We always had each others backs, and it was amazing to be on such a skilled team. For the first time I was traveling to places like Arizona for tournaments with girls that shared the same love and drive for success in the sport as I always had. I don't know what coach I will play for or where soccer will take me, but I know I will work as hard as I can to get me and my team to the best we can be.
