I'm Autumn, a defensive and attacking midfielder, as well as a center forward. I began playing soccer at six years old, for the Kewaskum Youth Soccer organization and played up one age group. In seventh grade, I took a big step and decided to try out for a club soccer team. Once I made Washington County FC, I fell in love with the sport and decided to put basketball and softball behind me. I enjoyed the higher level of competition and playing speed within the game, and I knew soccer was something I did not want to give up on. In my freshman year of high school, I moved to North Shore United to seek out higher-level competition and opportunities. After making the U18 white team, my coach put me at left wing, a position I had never played before. Although I would prefer to play a different position on the field, I took the starting opportunity he gave me and challenged myself to play this position to the best ability. I then continued to play with this team, along with the U19 Blue team, assisting them in indoor games. Now, in my senior year, I have continued to help the Blue team. During the state cup game, I had taken an elbow to the face and broke my nose, which was my first injury. Following the incident, I did not want to be split from the sport, and helped the team in the last State cup game, while risking the possibility of injuring my nose again. Two days following, I had surgery and would be out for the next six weeks. When I discovered this news, I knew my club season could be over, the last I would ever play. The biggest motivation in my life is soccer. End of my Junior year, I really struggled to come to school due to mental health issues and several other factors. One thing I could always depend on was soccer. The practices and games allowed me to connect with others and express myself in new ways. I learned to build new relationships with coaches and teammates, work to my fullest potential, and get my mind off of things that weren't as important. After recognizing what soccer has taught me, I have decided that collegiate soccer is in my best interest.
