Abbey Stanton '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Abbey Stanton and I live in Madison, WI. I currently play club soccer for the Madison 56ers and High School soccer for Madison West High School.  My graduation year is 2024.

I was introduced to soccer when I was four years old and instantly loved the sport. As the years passed, I found how much I truly enjoyed playing and learning more about the game and how to improve my skills. Soccer has now become a part of my everyday life and a true passion of mine.

One of my favorite aspects of the sport is that the more you work, the better you get. There is always room for improvement. I work hard and always give my all at training. I also know how important it is to learn from a variety of coaches and teammates, which is one of the reasons I really enjoy taking advantage of opportunities such as ODP, Madison Futsal, and other soccer camps. The feedback I receive and skills that I learn from these types of trainings help me play at a higher level.

I believe that one of my biggest strengths is my technical ability. My skill on the ball allows me to get out of tight spaces and beat defenders. Another strength that sets me apart from my competition is my versatility. I am able to strike with either foot and can play multiple positions. 

I would love the opportunity to continue learning and playing in college. This has been a goal of mine for as long as I can remember. Whenever I can, I attend women’s soccer games/camps at nearby universities, which always makes me excited for the future. I can’t wait to pursue both my academic and athletic goals at the collegiate level!
