My name is Emma Prior, and I am a 2024 graduate attending Big Horn High School in Sheridan, Wyoming. I play soccer for Sheridan High School. Soccer is my first love—since I was two years old and an "assistant coach" to my older sister's team with my dad, I have dreamed of playing collegiate level soccer, and I have never turned my back on these goals.
I hope to continue my play at a more competitive level while receiving and working towards a higher education. My effort, coachability, vision, and leadership are some of my best qualities. I love to learn more about the game through drills and film and always dedicate my free time to watching film on myself, my team, and my opponents or by watching professional games.
While living in a small community can be difficult, it has taught me to seize the moments I am presented with and to work harder to achieve my goals. I had to search for teams outside of my local club to enhance my game and have become far more experienced to various levels of team play; from playing on my club team, high school team, state team, ODP team, and guest playing with clubs from other Wyoming towns and Colorado.
Living in a small community has taught me the importance of giving back to one's community. My community lacked a place where children with physical or cognitive disabilities could play a sport, so I started a TOP Soccer Program in my home town to spread the amazing game to those who would never have been able to love the sport as I do.
As my school is so small, it does not offer any AP courses, but I do plan on working towards earning my Associates Degree in General Studies through our local Community College prior to my graduation.
While I am not yet certain on my intended major, I am interested in the fields of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech Pathology and hope to also minor in either Special Education or Sports Coaching.
