Cheyenne Smith '25 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Nevaeh but everyone that knows me call me Cheyenne. I live in Jasper, Alabama. I attend Curry High School as a senior and will graduate May 2025. 

I have always found myself to be more competative with myself in swimming. Not only do I get to compete against friends, classmates, and other swimmers, but I also compete against myself. I strive daily to break presonal records at pracitce and competions. I have just started my senior year of swim and have managed to drop several seconds the first 2 swim meets. I am always trying to push myself at practice because I not only want to do the best of my ability for myself, but for my swimmates as well. 

Not only do I swim 5 days a week, but I also stay very active with my church group and I am currenlty a certified lifeguard for Jasper Natatorium. I mnagage to work 2 days a week and maintain my academics with my college courses as well as high school courses. 

Curry High School os a county school. The athletic department recognizes all sports except swim. With the help of my mother and a few church memebers that work for the BOE, we together convinced the high school principle and coaches to allow for a swim team. So I and one other swimmate make up the Curry High School swim team. I enjoy being able to compete at the high school level because it allows for more competative swimming. 

I am currently in my tenth year of swimming. I have swam with Jasper Swim Team since I was 8 years old. I just completed my ninth summer swim and will have my tenth summer swim season this next summer. Swimming allows me to challenge myself mentally and physically. And like any other sport, not everyday is your best day. So on the days that are not so great, I strive to accomplish twice as much the next day. I really enjoy being a part of a swim team and enjoying everyone's special record breaking moments.
