My passion for swimming began when I was 3 months old and my Mom took me into the pool for the first time. I started swimming for my summer swim team in Colorado at the age of 5 and then moved to a competitive team when I was 13, as I wanted to better prepare myself for the next level. I moved to Arizona before my freshman year in high school and swam for my High School, the Eastmark Firebirds, and also swam for my Club Team, Mesa Aquatics (MAC). I was named captain of my high school swim team, the first freshman captain, and was honored to have held that responsibility for all 4 years. Swimming has been and will always be a big part of my life and I am excited to share my passion with my mentees at MAC and my teammates.
I like to think of swimming as my outlet from school and everyday life. I always give 110% at every practice, training, meet, and team event! While in high school I also ran Varsity Track and played on the Varsity Basketball and Varsity Flag Football teams. Being a multi-sport athlete has helped push me in every aspect of life, especially with my academics.
In high school, I completed two years of Sports Medicine and passed my Technical Skills Assessment (TSA), Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), and Lifeguard Certification tests. I also passed my Certified Nursing Assistant(CNA) test and hold my CNA license. In college, I am studying to become a pediatric nurse to later specialize in pediatric oncology. I want to help find a cure for cancer while caring for children. Aside from school, I am a part of the Adams State Nursing Association, Christian Challenge, and the Student Athletic Conference. I'm looking for a college that will allow me to continue swimming while reaching my career goals!
