2021 Highlights When I first moved to year-round swimming just last year, little did I expect to enjoy one of the most grueling and taxing events in swim. After 8 years at recreational swimming, transferring to a year-round team was definitely a challenge. It was only in March 2021 that I gathered enough courage to swim my first ever 200 butterfly. Needless to say that it was singlehandedly the most tired I’ve ever been in my entire life. When my dad pulled me out of the pool, I never though I would submit myself to that kind of torture ever again. Now, just a year later, I dropped 16 seconds from that first time to a 2:16.85 at finals. Pushing myself to my absolute limits is exhilarating, and as a current sophomore, makes me beyond excited to see what I am capable of in the upcoming years. I continually will strive to accomplish as much as I can with new values of self-motivation, perseverance, and hard work whether that be in the pool, or behind a desk.
