While I can't recall an exact moment where I "fell in love" with the sport, swimming is something I have always been very passionate about. I have been swimming for 12 years, and it has been a pillar of stability for me. I have always wanted to pursue swimming in college, as it has been such a big part of my life and identity.
I would like to major in biology (or another physical science), and I am looking at going on to pursue a doctorate in veterinary medicine. Being a veterinarian was my dream job when I was little, as I have always loved animals. I am also interested in science and medicine, so being a veterinarian is a career that I think I would enjoy.
One of my coach's favorite sayings is "hard work pays off", and that is something that I have taken to heart both in and out of the pool. I am a dedicated student with a 4.00 unweighted GPA, and I am also an honors and AP student. Swim taught me that persistent effort and commitment are what create results. That knowledge has helped me succeed in both athletic and academic settings.
My favorite events are the 100 Fly and 100 Back. I also enjoy the 200 Back and 100 Free. I have not had many opportunities to swim it over the last year, but I also like swimming the 200 Fly.
I truly love swimming and competing, and swim has had a fundamental role in shaping and directing my growth as a person. Swimming has taught me to value persistence, dedication, and precision. It has also taught how to recover from setbacks and failures.
Thank you for taking the time to read a little about me. I look forward to hearing from you.
