My name is Julia Maecker and I have been in love with the sport of swimming since I was about seven years old. Swimming has been a source of joy for me even when times have been less than hopeful. It has given me a community and connected me with more opportunities than I thought possible.
I am committed to keeping my academics as my number one priority. In college, I want to major in education in order to become an elementary school teacher and get to work with the next generation.
I currently swim with ALTO Swim Club, which is a year-round club in Palo Alto, California, under Coach Dustin Fukuda. My main strokes and distance are sprint backstroke and freestyle. However, I am generally versatile and can swim anything from a 50 to a 500.
