2016 Piranha Swim Team in Loma Linda (Gold)
Martin Grégoire / Piranha Gold Coach/ Head Coach
Before coming to California, Martin had been coaching in Canada for the previous 20 years. Over this time, Martin has had numerous swimmers on the Canadian National Team and was appointed as a Canadian National Team coach on various occasions. His swimmers have won medals on the Canadian scene including the 2008 Olympic Trials and international events, the World FISU Games in 2009, the Santa Clara International Invitational, Open Water World Cup's and other Canadian team tours. Martin was the Head Coach of the Redlands Swim Team from 2011 to 2014. While at the helm of the team, two of his swimmers qualified for the London 2012 Olympic Games and Coach Martin was appointed to the coaching staff of the Uzbekistan Olympic delegation. At the end of the 2012-2013 season, Martin was appointed as a coach of the US Junior National team. His swimmers qualified for various teams such as the Junior World Championships (Kyle Gornay) and the All Star team from California and Nevada that travelled to Japan for a dual meet. Coach Martin will bring his extensive experience to develop a world class program in Loma Linda.

My instructor is John Gomez ([email protected]) The program is designed to help develop my core strength, speed and endurance. We train twice a week on drills that include free weights, boxing and cardio.

My training includes 8 to 11 swim practices a week (excluding meets). These practices are two to 3 1/2 hours and they include both dryland and in pool training.
