Saige Starford '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Saige Starford. I have been swimming since I was a baby but I started swimming competitively in the 4th grade. I have been on Blue Wave Swim team in Brandon, FL since then and this team has helped me grow as a swimmer and as a person. Swimming has always been my passion. When I am considering college, I am certain that I want to swim on a college team. In a college, I am looking for high rated academics, helpful teachers, and students that have a lot of school spirit and pride. In a college team, I am looking for coaches that will push me to be my best, a team I can depend on, and an overall high-spirited environment.  I enjoy having a lively environment during practice that pushes me to the best of my ability. I provide encouragement to my teammates often and I celebrate their success with them.

I am in the IB program at Strawberry Crest High School in Dover, FL. Being on Blue Wave my whole life has taught me a lot about mental stamina and grit. I have the perseverance to push through hard sets and practices. Going through the IB program, I've had to apply this same grit to academics as I push myself to achieve the highest grades that I can through these difficult courses.
