Hi, My name is Emma Bryan and I am from Tampa, Florida. I have been swimming competitively for 11 years and have grown into leadership roles on my team(s). Ever since I was young, swimming has been very important to me and I've always had hopes of swimming in college. Through the sport, I have been able to participate in some amazing opportunities. Presently, I serve on 4 student-run committees with two of them pertaining to swim; the Swim Across America (SAA) Junior Advisory Board and the Florida Swimming Athlete Committee (FLAC). I have participated in SAA, a charity dedicated to cancer research, for five years, swimming 2 miles open water and raising around $1500 every year. The Florida Swimming Athlete Committee is a governing body of the Florida Swimming LSC. Out of a large pool of applicants, nineteen student-athletes and I were selected to represent approximately eleven-thousand athletes in the state. I also serve on the Relay for Life and Orchestra leadership committees at my school. I have been fortunate enough to use music and swim as a medium to get involved and give back to my community and inspire the younger generation. Thus, I often find myself as the leader and enjoy exemplifying the title of a role-model.
