Ileana Lopez Barnes '25 Recruiting Profile

I am the first born daughter to an American Immigrant - my father was born and raised in the Dominican Republic. I am bilingual and proud of my heritage. But I am also a very proud American, as I have been given many privileges to have a great eduction and the chance to pursue my love of swimming. I am an introvert by nature, but don't let my quiet demeanor fool you. I am a driven, hard worker in the classroom, in the pool and in my community. I lead by example; serving others is my second nature. Being the older sister to a handicapped brother has left me with a soft spot for those who need a little extra help. When I am not swimming, I enjoy history, reading, and multiple styles of music. I am not sure what my future holds, but I am interested in history, marketing and/or production.
