First, I would like to start by introducing myself. My name is Maya Daniel, I'm 17 years old, I'm a student-athlete. I've been competitively swimming since the age of 6 years old, so swimming is a huge part of my everyday life. I started swimming a the age of about 1 years old in mommy and me classes and started learning how to swim on my own by the age of 2. I have many ups and downs when it comes to swimming because i have been doing it for so long. When I see others succeed I like to push myself harder, there have been many instances where I have thought about giving up on swim whether it was because I didn't feel confident enough or fast enough. I tried very hard to continue to swim and with the support from my family, friends, and coaches I have become the swimmer I am today. When I enter college I would like to begin by studying to become a pediatrician. I would also like to continue swimming throughout my college years. I have been swimming since the age of six years old. I am an extremely optimistic person and I love supporting my teammates. To me when I think about swimming I think about family I think about all the times I have so much fun but also focus and work hard towards being the best.
