Abigail Uhl '25 Recruiting Profile

My name is Abby Uhl, and I am 18. I currently attend Prairie Ridge High School in Crystal Lake, IL. I began competitively swimming at the age of 5. I started my swim career at Dundee Dolphins, moved to The Sage Piranhas YMCA, and now swim for Reach Aquatics. My whole life, I've been very determined, and I have achieved every goal I have set for myself so far. Swimming has always been a significant part of my life and has helped me become a successful student-athlete. I don't allow obstacles to get in the way of my aspirations. An example of my determination was in June of 2022. I was in a severe accident that could have ended my swimming career. Instead of giving up on my dreams, I fought back, rehabilitated my injuries, and returned faster and stronger. I aim to swim at the highest level while achieving my educational goals. Since the accident, I competed and placed at the IHSA girls' state and at NCSA spring junior nationals. Swim Swam currently ranks me 27th in the State of Illinois. I take dual credit classes academically and am a leader both in and out of the water. I am also in a leadership role as a lifeguard at the Crystal Lake beach. I bring extensive experience, knowledge, and leadership to a team. My team is my extended family.
