From the moment I was born I loved the water. My mother felt it was a necessary skill to be able to swim, so I learned how at a very young age. Although, I don't know if you count being able to float and holding your breath as swimming. We had a pool at our house, so from the ages of 1 to 3 you practically had to drag me out of the water. However, my mother got a new job and I was then taken away from a life of Chlorine and wet hair. My mothers new job took us all across the country, and knowing how much my brother and I loved the water, she made sure we spent plenty of our time at beaches, pools, and lakes. After we had stopped traveling and things had settled down, I decided to join the Blue Marline's swim team, though if I'm being honest, I only joined because all of my friends did. Nevertheless, I can honestly say I am so very grateful I joined, because I was then introduced to the fast pace world of Competitive racing. Where not only did my love for swimming come back full force, but suddenly I could talk with my friends in-between sets (although our coach made sure we were too out of breath to talk to each other), get all different kinds of fun rubber ducks as a trophy if I won my heat, and my mother and I had a deal that if I dropped time at a swim meet then we were definitely stopping for ice cream on the way home (my favorite is Peanut Butter Cup, the only right answer). All of that just to say, swimming has been with me heavily throughout my life, and I can tell you I do not plan to leave it anytime soon. I still have more rubber ducks to win after all!
