Carly McGuire '17 Recruiting Profile

I believe in being amazing in and out of the pool. I love being a part of the team and being a leader. I love working with other people to help to learn new things from me. I also love learning new things from others as well. I want to become a Elementary school teacher. I love working with children and helping them accomplish goals. I'm taking a Childhood Education class currently, and I love it! I create lesson plans and teach to the preschoolers that come to our school. I also help out at my townships food pantry and the events they have (backpack give aways, toy drives,thanksgiving dinner giveaways).

I started swimming at a young age of 7 years old. I started swimming on my park district team, HPST, Hanover Park Swim Team. I loved it, and wanted to go "full time" and swim year round. At 10 years old I started swimming for a small team,BEST, Bartlett Eletrix Swim Team. A few years later the team fell apart with less than 20 swimmers. I decided to swim for SCST, St.Charles Swim Team. I love my team and my amazing coaches. I'm a sprinter, and LOVE the 100 Back and 50 free. The less distance the better!
