Elizabeth "Betsy" King '20 Recruiting Profile

My dream is to swim in college at a competitive Division I or Division II school, yet I am not ruling out a Division III program if it offers an academic degree in my areas of interest. I want to find a college/university and a swim team that is the right "fit" for me. In other words, I want to be a part of a community that is welcoming, friendly, has a family atmosphere that also stresses academic success, and offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities and academic programs. I know I am a good candidate for any team because I am a leader, a hard worker, and view challenges as opportunities. My current teammates know my actions speak louder than words for I have been selected to be a team captain for my sophomore and junior high school seasons. It is hard for me to put into words what makes me different from other recruits because there are so many great candidates out there. Great swimmers are dedicated, committed, and must have time management skills to also be good students. Yet, I am confident that I possess these qualities for I have been able to have success in the pool while maintaining over a 4.0 cumulative grade point average for the past two and a half years.
