I'm Kenzie Weber from Middlebury, Indiana, and I’ve been a year-round competitive swimmer since first grade. My goal is to be a key contributor to a collegiate team. My background with the Northridge Area Swim Association swim program makes me different from other recruits because of its unique emphasis on aerobic training, including underwaters, technique and kicking, aspects that are important to long term swimming success. Dedication and discipline are deeply ingrained in me, and I am very excited and hopeful about the opportunity to bring my talents and commitment to the college level. I am prepared to push through discomfort to give my very best every day. I love the sport of swimming, and contributing to my team’s success.
I was All-Conference and All-State my freshman, sophomore and junior years, as well as All-American my sophomore and junior years. A sophomore highlight was our 200 Freestyle Relay State Championship at 2018 Girls High School State, where we defeated Carmel, who had not lost any relay in six years. Northridge High School placed 2nd in the State in 2018 behind Carmel, our team’s highest-ever finish. I was a member of relay teams that broke all 3 school records. My junior year, we also did well, placing 5th at state as a team, in a tight race that was within 3 points of 2nd place.
While taking an honors course schedule, I have maintained a GPA of 4.22. I am interested in biology, kinesiology, dietetics or accounting, although I have not ruled out other majors. Since I have never known any different, I have become very good at balancing academics with swimming, a discipline that will help me in college.
I am a lifeguard, swim lessons instructor, and assistant coach for 7 and 8 year old boys and girls. I assisted with aquatics therapy for functional skills students, and also with the program which teaches all 4th graders in our school system to swim. I am a student leader with Middlebury Food Pantry, which provides groceries to families in need. I have been on Student Council every year.
I very much look forward to hearing from coaches from all over the nation, and I am excited to explore all opportunities for a collegiate swimming career. I am committed to finding the perfect fit for success, both academically and athletically, to continue developing my talents for the success of my future college team.
