Personal Statement
Although I started competitive swimming at 14 years old, I went from knowing nothing and swimming club for only 3 hours a week, to knowing all of my strokes, turns, starts, and how to read the clock one month later, where I swam at the highest level, for the 10 hours a week they offered.
Ever since I first jumped into the pool, I have been a very coachable, hard working athlete. Even with our 2-a-day practices during the school year, I always bring a positive attitude and uplift those on my team to encourage them to work harder. I swim year-round doing high school swimming during the winter, and club swimming during the spring, summer, and fall.
However, swimming is not the only thing I work hard in. My academics mean a lot to me, and if I am not at the pool, I can usually be found at my church doing service work for others with my youth group, or I am at home studying for one of my classes.
My main goal in life is to graduate high school going to a college that offers me the classes required to be a surgeon. Last semester I took 3 science courses to help with my goal, one being the second year of PLTW biomedical sciences. Although sometimes it gets hectic between school and swim, I am thankful to have my dad pushing me and cheering me on to do my best, inside and outside of the pool.
